AzzedineAlaia,born in Tunis, Tunisiaon February 26th in 1935was a Tunisian and shoe designer, particularly successful beginning in the 1980s.
His glamorous twin sister, Hafida, inspired his love for couture and aFrench friend fed Alaa's instinctive creativity with copies of Vogue.
He then lied about his ageto get into the TunisInstitute of Fine Arts,where he gained valuable insights into the human form and sculpture.
After his graduation,he privately dressed members of the world's jet set.

On November 18th, 2017, it was announced Alaa died in Paris. He was 82 years old.
